Description
Onda – meaning wave, in Portuguese – is a yoyo for MK1’s Brazilian player, Bernardo. It uses One Drop’s Side Effect axle system and a sweeping shape that flows from one curve to the next. The combination of 7075 and Side Effects makes it particularly durable, and you can customize the weight and looks by swapping Side Effects.
Design Notes:
The idea behind this yo-yo was to create something that feels comfortable in the hand while still feeling solid and powerful when thrown.
A major part of the design process was finding the right balance between comfort, durability, and performance. I chose 7075 aluminum combined with Side Effects because I wanted this to be a yo-yo that you can carry with you wherever you go. This combination significantly improves its durability, allowing it to handle everyday use while maintaining a solid and reliable feel during play.
The colors were inspired by fluid and dynamic themes found in nature and beyond – the ocean, lava, space, and air. Each theme explores movement, depth, and the way different elements flow and interact with their surroundings.
Overall, the goal was to create a yo-yo that feels minimal and comfortable in your hand, but purposeful and robust in every throw.
